The venue for this, as for all the Tokyoblu secret events, is absolutely amazing. Be one of the first in Edinburgh to see this fantastic addition to the city's nightlife. The event will feature 2 rooms of the most sublime and funky house music with Room 1 hosted by Tokyoblu DJ's and Room 2 hosted by Little Grooves and FutureB. This event is also John and Iain Tokyoblu's joint birthday party as we celebrate another year of growing old disgracefully. 29th December – Nearly New Year For our last gig of the year Tokyoblu are bringing up Tane one of the hottest residents from awesome Chibuku Shake Shake to give us a hand in the mainroom. As I’m sure you are all aware Tokyoblu never put on guest DJ’s so when you do you can be sure that they are gonna be the bomb. Chibuku which runs in Liverpool and London and holds regular guest spots across the globe has been one of the hottest clubs in the UK for the past 5 years. It has a won a huge list of accolades including Mixmag club of the year and a place in the DJ top 50 clubs in the world. Counting Chibuku amongst one of several residencies Tane has also DJ’d alongside such superstar DJ’s as Unkle, 2ManyDj’s, The Rapture, Miss Kitten, Scratch Perverts & DJ Food. Friday 22nd December – Tokyoblu secret Xmas Black & White Ball Following on from the Secret Garden Parties and the Dungeon Dance Tokyoblu are pleased to announce a brand new secret Party. Hosted by John & Iain Tokyoblu and with several guest DJ’s we will be taking over a brand new quality Edinburgh venue. Details will be announced here on the Tokyoblu website on the day of the gig. Sunday 24th December – Tokyoblu @ 360 degrees, Dubai We are hugely pleased to announce that we are jetting off to play in Dubai on xmas eve at the awesome 360 degrees at Jumeirah Beach hotel. Doors open 8 – 2 Pm and it’s free if you register before hand via 360degrees@jumeirah.com so please pass the word on to anyone you know out there. The night will feature the Tokyoblu band, Dj’s John & Iain and percussion from Pepe Santamaria. New singer joins Tokyoblu Tokyoblu are very pleased to announce that Sara Pickin has joined the Tokyoblu band. Sara blew us away during our recent first round of auditions and will be taking the stage with us to do a couple of songs at our last gig of the year. We are still looking for further guest vocalists to work with so keep reading for further info.
Looking forward to 2007 Tokyoblu are looking further to develop our live concept and are looking to add a few things into the mix. 1)
Firstly we are looking for new vocalists to guest on tracks with
us. We are looking for both male and female vocalists probably between
the age of 2) We are also looking for a brass section for the band so if you play sax, trumpet or trombone give us a shout. Our musical influences are hugely varied but needless to say it would help if you enjoy the likes of Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, the Greenskeepers, Rogue Traders, The Scissor Sisters & Jamiroquai. 3) Tokyoblu are also looking for budding designers to create a series of flyers for us, so if you want to get your work seen by thousands off people please get in touch.
